It’s been a while in the making and we’ve had a few fits and starts, but it looks like Drogo’s is going to take the plunge and start getting acoustic-types at the cafe...

Yep - you heard (read) that right. Music. Live music. It won’t be tomorrow, but it’ll be very soon - like next month in April. So - for those of you who read this, and either are or know of those who are musically inclined, please get a hold of or have those you know get a hold of Dave at Sprucetanic Studios (there’s a link on the Contacts page) and we’ll work together to make it so.

Our area of 2nd Street is getting more popular by the day, so the exposure and potential for greatness is... uhm... great.

SXSW 2008 Part 2

Austin has a way of bringing to itself those most people only see on screen or on covers of albums. Drogo’s had the distinct honor and pleasure of having both Moby and Steve Buscemi come by during the most recent SxSW. I must say that the cafe was NOT all cluttered with screaming fans, paparazzi or any such thing. Everyone was well mannered and allowed both men to enjoy their fare in peace. Very cool. That’s the Austin we’ve come to know and love.

This, of course, brings up the very good point that one never knows who might be in town and in need of an extremely delicious organically grown coffee or espresso - a vegan sandwich, perhaps - or just a bit of ‘alone time...’

South by Southwest 2008

I have no way of telling those of you who have not been a part of South by Southwest (or “SxSW” or “South by”) how filled with new and exciting/enjoyable/crazy/entertaining/cutting-edge film and music it is; and it grows larger every year...
This year’s South by is the largest Austin has ever seen with the music portion of the event starting in the middle of the week and culminating this weekend. Over 1600 bands are in town to wow their fans and (hopefully for them) new converts. If you all from outside of Austin ever get a chance to come this way for SxSW - do. You will not be disappointed!
